    Default Bosworth double diaphragm pump

Has anyone put more taps than this pump is rated for? Does it have trouble keeping up with 800?

If your woods are tight it should be no problem. I have used the single 400 pump on 500 taps and can get over 25". I all so have the double and that runs only 21.5". When you look at the GPM of the pump and the GPH of the sap coming in it can handle that. $1100 for the double vs. $4000 for a real vacuum system and they both come with some issues.

Thanks for the info, does the vacuum decrease at all at full capacity?

I have 500 taps. On April 9 Sunday when things started to flow real good I had the double pump running. The sap was coming in at 60 GPH and the vacuum was 21". It never changed. And FYI the Bosworth double pump that I have, I have changed the pumps to the 400 pumps. I have some more work to do with the double pump and I think I can get it to 25" for next year.
