I imagine like many of you; today I received an interesting email regarding buying maple permeates for
re-sale as a beverage. Does that make any sense? Is permeate a new viable maple product?
It was a startup called Asarasi Farms.

Apparently, anything that can be put in a bottle has some sort of resale value to it nowadays.
I don't make enough permeate to sell to this guy. I turn right around and wash and rinse all my equipment using the permeate.

Yup it's for real there was an article in the Maple News about it Feb or March. This particular product has been available for 3-4 years. I found it interesting I got the email today and finished making Syrup 2 weeks ago. Must be they are looking for next year.

RO water has nothing in it. Most bottled water is RO water with minerals added back in.Drinking large amounts of RO water probably make you sick.It draws minerals out of your body to reconstute to H2O. like it draws the minerals off your pans.Ive tried their product at Verona. Great product. I beleive they add setzer and talked about maybe other flavors. It would be great to have a market for our byproduct!

I tried Asarasi at Verona this year, and I liked it. To me it's better than the maple water (sap) that's on the market. I like their marketing and they seem to be growing, so I imagine it's only a good thing for producers who can participate. I always had interest in the beverage market, but it is fiercely competitive and expensive to get started.

I dump in excess of 100,000 gallon on the ground every year. My thought the cost of tanks to store it in till they picked it up would far out way what little you would get back in dividends. How many ways can you split the profit on a $1.50 bottle of water and make enough to cover your investment.
Thats what I'm thinking. The store is going to make 30%, the distributer is going to make 20%, the manufacter is going to 30%, somebodys got to truck the stuff and the sugarer gets very little. Correct me if im wrong, but didnt the article in the maple news say something a nickle a gallon?
shrunken producer, from 8,000 taps to 4,000 to 5800 to 9500 to 11,000 vac
