Default Big shout out to Chris at The Maple Guys

Chris gave me a call and had a filter press he wanted me to test out on that syrup I had with the bad DE. Worked like a charm!! Had to use 4 sets of papers because the DE clogged them so badly but I got through it and the syrup is crystal clear.

    Thank you Chris!!!

So what were you trying to filter the syrup with before you used the Maple Guys press?

Chris is a good guy. Was it the jet filter or something else? I currently use a double cone filter which does really well for what it is.

More details please, what was it and how did you use it?
Dave Klish, I recently ordered a 2x6 wood fired evaporator from A&A Sheet Metal which I will be converting to oil fired
Now have solar, 2x6 finish pan, 5 bank 7x7 filter press, large water jacketed bottler, and tankless water heater.
Recently bought another Gingerich RO, this one was a 125, but a second membrane was added thus is a 250, like I had.
    After running a 2x3, a 2x6, 3x8 tapping from 79 taps up to 1320 all woodfired, now I'm going to a 2x6 oil fired and a 200-425 taps.

It was his Maple Jet press.

Used my friends filter press last week but because the DE wouldn't clump properly it was just blowing through his overflow line. Chris's Maple Jet press handled it just fine. Nice little system. He is building one for me now.
