    Default Maple Weekend

It looks pretty good for the maple weekend! There's a breakfast in Skowhegan on Saturday. Check it out! Most of the local producers are open both Saturday and Sunday.

Anyone else doing anything fun? We are having an open house at our sugarhouse on Saturday, and Sunday. It's at 100 Burrill Hill Road in Skowhegan.

Our 34th year of Maine Maple Sunday. Going to be great weather, considering. It'll be a pain if the sap runs, hard to boil for production and deal with 1000 people at the same time.

Funny we say the same thing. Its nice to have visitors but we can never seem to make syrup at a consistent rate on Maple Sunday. We will be boiling around the clock starting Saturday morning till Sunday night to get caught up.

At least it'll be good weather and we've made a good amount of syrup. Some years we're scrambling to have enough syrup. More than once visitors were leaving with hot jugs as we packaged to order. Lol

We're open 10-4 on Sat. 424 Bradeen Rd in Sumner (at the dead end), then follow the signs down the hill. Feel free to stop by if you're holding onto your sap for Sunday and have nothing else to do. I hope to go out visiting on Sunday if I can get away.

It was a great weekend! We had a lot of visitors, but not too many and we made some syrup. We got started a little late on Saturday because we were waiting for the sap to flow, but flow it did!
We had a great time and sold some syrup too! Thanks to all who helped out and participated in this great weekend!

Huge crowds, like the old days before anyone else did it. Well over 1000 people Sunday, Saturday maybe 150 -200. Amazingly, we didn't sell out of syrup. I was packaging while some customers waited near the end of the day, but I think everyone got the syrup they wanted. It was close, we haven't made a lot of syrup, but asked a of our regulars to hold off on getting syrup until next week, so that helped.

Same here, great turnout! Lots of family and friends. Seems like the amount of little ones goes up every year. Kids had a great time sliding and so did the adults! Got 90% of our sap boiled down Saturday which made it much easier to give tours and explain the process and talk with visitors on Sunday. Sold a decent amount of syrupProbably one of the best Maple Sundays yet. Looking forward to next year.

It was the perfect weekend to have a sugarhouse. I went to two maple breakfasts and it was a really fun time for all! We might not be in the biz for too much longer if it sells, but we're going out on a high note! Thanks to all who visited, helped out and participated in the weekend!
