I had some folks out a couple of years ago. The 16 yr old daughter was helping gather and asked why the sap in the bucket was green? I said it was too early for the trees to be budding and that was usually why the sap was green. I said taste the sap and see if it is still sweet. She said it was fine. I walked over, looked in the bucket and pointed out the reason for green sap was probably the dead mouse floating in it. She tried to spit her tongue out. She later apologized for her reaction. I told her she didn't throw up so I thought she did fine.

And in the Northern Kingdom, he eats the squirrel.

Those telling the jokes, don't you realize which ever state you are from the maple producer from that state is supposed to dump the sap and sanitize the bucket?
Dave Klish, I recently ordered a 2x6 wood fired evaporator from A&A Sheet Metal which I will be converting to oil fired
Now have solar, 2x6 finish pan, 5 bank 7x7 filter press, large water jacketed bottler, and tankless water heater.
Recently bought another Gingerich RO, this one was a 125, but a second membrane was added thus is a 250, like I had.
    After running a 2x3, a 2x6, 3x8 tapping from 79 taps up to 1320 all woodfired, now I'm going to a 2x6 oil fired and a 200-425 taps.
