Default Check Valves and Guzzler Pumps????

For those of you running Guzzler Pumps out there, are you Running a check Valve on the main line? If so what kind of Check valve? I'm thinking I want a swing check but I'm not sure, any and all help is appreciated.

I'm running a 500 series guzzler. I have a check valve right in front of the pump followed by a vac gauge and then a shutoff valve. This is the check I used IMG_1250.jpg

I have come across a recommendation to install a check valve after the pump. I have one but have not installed it.

i have check valves on either side. No idea if it makes a difference. I was also told that the pump works the best when it is full of water. I was told that some will add a small diameter line with a valve that will be t'd in before the pump and will be fed by the main tank so essentially it is pulling sap out of the tank and pumping it back in at the same time just to keep some liquid in the diaphragm. I have not done this though

I need to try this idea. I usually get around 20" of vac but when sap is really running and pump is full it will get. Between 25-27" That is a great idea.

Your doing well then I am happy with anything over 10". The best I have don't is 18" but I really have to be constantly checking for leaks. I get a constant squirrel damage

What's the best diaphragm to use? I've been using the black ones stamped FDA and all I'm getting is about 24 hours of use..
