We re tubed about 1/3 pf our woods this past summer. Following best practices with tubing and pipeline in the woods paid off this year. We saw SSC around 2% until last week when it no longer froze at night, then a slow decline in SSC to around 1.4%. We tap 90% sugar maples. The flavor went off, sap got slimy and the syrup got lighter two days ago so we stopped even though the sap was running harder than ever.
sounds like you had a good season.

500 gallons last night. It was supposed to freeze Hard and did so I left it in the woods 15° at the house this morning, probably very little sap today. Need a day off anyway. Back at it tomorrow, try to squeeze 1 more week.

Froze hard again last night, brought the releaser home and cleaned it up good, buy did it need it. Put it Back on and now it leaks more than it did before. Guess I've got some Work to do there. Saps running 50 gph thinking it might clear up but there is alot of Gunk in the lines. Going to try to make it a week.

Hauled 700 gallons home and boiled it this afternoon, filled another 15 gallon Barrel, the sap is still running good and clear, although my clean tank has some white line Garnish settling out on the bottom. Definitely have a few more days here, going to drain my rig tomorrow and give it a quick scrub a dub dub, the flu pan is about as dirty as I have ever seen it. Its strange because I am not getting that much syrup pan Niter.

Got about another 1 got today. Sap has cleared up, tested 1.2 this evening. Was going to boil tonight but it would be a late one, probably wait until tomorrow evening when I can start earlier. Hiked to the top of the mtn and found 3 leaks total. Got the vacuum back up close to 26" , got a few days left atleast. But the old lady is definitely warming up chords.

Hope you get a couple more days in, sounds like you've been getting nice runs lately. I'm calling it quits after tonights boil, Boiling raw sap and collecting with a 2wd atv is wearing me out.

I believe tonight was the last Boil , had 900 gallons of 1% , trees have really slowed down. Made another 12 or so gallons tonight, probably boil out the flu pan tomorrow night depending on what comes in tomorrow.

Let the vacuum pump run out of Gas Tonight. Sap was still coming in clear but there just isn't enough of it to make it worth while. I will boil out my rig tomorrow night . Probably finish up with 175 gallons. If anyone reading this has a barrel or 2 of NH amber rich I am looking for some. I'd like to pay 2.50 , I think that is a fair bit better than the big guys. Shoot me a PM.
