I am planning a 3/16 setup this season. I have a steep bank down to the creek right by the cabin. This gets me 20+ foot of drop right near the end of my lines. My plan is to start this year with one of the 275 gallon tote tanks and see how that works. Up by the cabin I have a 375 gallon bulk tank. The run is relatively short maybe 75-100' I do not plan on using a large line to keep the drainback volume low. Something in the 5/8" range.

Ideally I would have an electric pump so that I don't have to climb down and back up the steep bank numerous times. Just start and run then shut off.

Ideally the pump would be submersible so that it stays inside the mass and keeps from freezing, but the tote will not have a decent sump. Alternatively I could try to make a suction pickup like a chainsaw fuel line

Future plans I may build a tapered bottom tank that has a sump, but for mow I need to improvise. Worst case scenario is I have to use a little Honda gasser and climb down, but I'd probably want a heat tape to warm things so I can pump in the morning.

I do have a 1HP sprinkler pump http://www.northerntool.com/images/p..._2000x2000.jpg that is said to do 50 psi, 180ft max head and can lift 20', but OI fear priming at 20' suction would be rough.

Just a follow up, the Wayne pump worked great. Not exceptionally fast, but fast enough. Took about 30 minutes to deliver 220 gallons more or less to a lift of about 30'. Since the pump is light weight I was able to place it below fluid level and it self primed. When I shut down it drained back quickly to the tank. I lifted above liquid level and disconnected the discharge tube. I then tipped the pump and drained the housing out the inlet port so no tools or mess to prime and drain.
