Tapped In Freetown
Tapped Feb 4, 25 reds on shurflo vac, 20 reds on buckets. 40 gallons in 3 days. To say I'm ecstatic with those numbers on red maples is an understatement. Trying homemade RO today. Vacuum setup and maintenance is more labor intensive than I thought, but it is a hobby right?

How are your bucket trees doing down there here? Mine have been pretty slow.
Buckets have been dead all week, assuming from snow pack, Temps on cold side.vacuum trees ran a little but not enough to boil. Expecting a good ru going this weekend(HOPEFULLY ). Warmup next week might stop things maybe for the year.... fingers crossed it freezes again next weekend. Made about 1 gallon so far on 50 reds, would like couple more..
There's plenty of season left. That warm spell next week is supposed to be short lived and we'll have nights back in the 20s again. Don't give up.

Is it time? I dont know but with red swamp maples and the weather coming up Im not holding out any longer... last two years tapping in Feb. were a bust.
