    Default Tapping has begun for us

    Put in 100 taps today , another 75 or so to go tomorrow. Blairstown , NJ .Its slowly dripping. I started at noon and have about 20 gallons or so in the drums . Forecast looks promising for the week. Good luck to everyone

    Yup just finished a 110gal run tonight made 2gal super nice light amber! It's here ! Asbury,N.J. Hunterdon county
    2021 95 taps all on 3/16' natural gravity 2018 home built 4x40 RO 2017 1000 sap 15gal syrup 4 runs of 3/16 natural vac 1 of 5/16 2016 775gal of sap made 12gal syrup 2015 18.5 gal about 55 taps. Have the best wife! cub cadet volunteer 4x4 sap hauler

    It took me about 200 gallons to make 9 quarts!! I figure 90 gallons to make 1 gallon. But yeah its here!, hope everything thaws out today and we get some more...

    All red maples:
    2013/4 - A few taps and propane burner
    2015 - 54 taps on bags and buckets, 2x3 Mason evaporator - 3.5 gallons syrup finished and bottled
    2016 - 72 taps on home-built vacuum/mainline system, home built RO (2 - 2.5 x 21 membranes) - 9+ gallons syrup finished and bottled
    2017 - 91 taps upgrade to RO (single 4 x 40 membrane) - 13 gallons syrup
    2018 - 91 taps - 12 gallons syrup
    2022 - Back after 3 years off, 106 taps on vacuum - 29+ gallons syrup

    image.jpgYes after putting in glass 110 gal made 24 8oz bottles not great but that's what it is for me sometimes here! Very light to begin.

    Thanks lots of long hrs you know but my ratio 75-1 or worse not good but looking into RO sitting on at least 170gal sap didn't collect yesterday worked late was 65degrees out now 8" snow n going to 10 degrees tonight ,lots of work at power co as a lineman with this storm have to go back tonight at 11pm so I off to rest very windy out not good for me!! Good luck when you start up there!
