    Default Syrup Sales Help

    Hello,
I work for the Girl Scouts in Central Ohio and we are hoping to sell a small quantity of our syrup, during our festival, on our property. We are not a home business, as we are a camp. So we are in this gray area. There is debate about whether we can fall under cottage industry or not...
I am not sure what resources are available for us to explore this, and what inspections we would need to have if we don't fall under cottage... or if it is even possible to get everything into place by late February. If we can't sell it, I am going to end up with a whole lot of syrup....
You all seem to be full of great information. Any help is appreciated.

    Chris

As long as you have the farms address on each bottle you should be fine (saying what year it was produced in and refrigerate after opening helps too). Whatever you aren't able to sell (I wouldn't bottle all of it in say 8oz jugs) you can sell to fellow producers. There is a lot of syrup that changes hands between producers. Good luck!

Awesome! I have contacted him and will see where we go from here.

Word last year was we would not be selling... then the head honchos changed their mind last minute... you know, right before syrup season, so we are scrambling a bit!
