February Journal
We are continuing to fix lines and tap. It seems I have far more repairs this year than ever before. We've had far too many high wind storms this past year. Anyways, it ends up taking 3x as much time as usual to get each line ready to tap. I had very few mainline issues but there are very few laterals where I can just replace the tap.
It looks like maybe next Tues. we might get a little sap and then on Wednesday it should be good. Late last week I got 100 gal of sap, but I need at least 250 gal to sweeten the pans. I now have a 100 gallon block of ice, but that will help keep next week's sap cold.
Dave Klish, I recently ordered a 2x6 wood fired evaporator from A&A Sheet Metal which I will be converting to oil fired
Now have solar, 2x6 finish pan, 5 bank 7x7 filter press, large water jacketed bottler, and tankless water heater.
Recently bought another Gingerich RO, this one was a 125, but a second membrane was added thus is a 250, like I had.
After running a 2x3, a 2x6, 3x8 tapping from 79 taps up to 1320 all woodfired, now I'm going to a 2x6 oil fired and a 200-425 taps.
