    Default "New" Shurlfo?

My apologies if this is a double post. I thought I had posted this question, but now I can't find it on the forum:

I just bought a new 12v Shurflo 4008. When I tested it, water spurted out. Is this typical? Do they quality test it before it goes out? Every other aspect of it is new - right down to the wiring. I just need a second opinion before I call the seller.

    Thanks,
    Sean

We just purchased one of these pumps and our test went well, but we have not put it into service yet...looks like tomorrow may be the day. Can you be a bit more descriptive about how you were testing and where the water spurted out?

Ha, sorry. I took it out of the box and connected it to a 12v power supply on my workbench.

Probably no help here....we hooked ours up to some tubing and pumped water out of a 5 gal bucket to make sure it worked. It did fine, but since we had it in water I have no idea if it had fluid in the pumping chamber when we got it.

I have bought several of these pumps and yes I do believe they test them before shipping them out. Mine all had a little water left in them as well.

Sean D- I just wired one up (new) and it did the same thing. Probably normal from their quality control people.

    Good luck.

Mine all spurt out a little water the first time out of the box when I fire them up.
