    Well your idea fits my budget perfectly. Off to the basement the to replicate. I have approx the same # of taps and haven't invested in a tool yet.
    Looks good. Do you heat your tubing in hot water to soften it up. I carry a thermos of hot water and dunk the ends of the tubing in to soften them. The fittings go on much easier but your tool might eliminate my thermos carrying.

    My third year of sugaring also, and through great threads here, and other internet searches for DIY tools, i've attempted to make one as well. Parts were $53 at a home store, and my buddy spent about 3 hours laying it out and welding...i am traveling, and am not able to test it until i return on the 31st. I have high hopes, and if adjustments are necessary, it shouldn't be too difficult to modify. My friend is looking for reasons to fire up his welder, so i was happy to help.
