    Default My first evaporator

    Well I am ready for my second year and have upgraded from the turkey fryer. Thanks to all here that have shared info. Test boil on my Oil tank evaporator today. Had to get my teenager to help with the stack. IMG_0153.jpgIMG_0154.jpgIMG_0156.jpgIMG_0155.jpg. Had a local shop build my pans

    Next task get the pvc piping connected to my storage barrel.

    2016 (1st year) 16 taps; 2 gallons of Amber syrup.
    2017; oil tank evaporator 38 taps. 3.75 gallons of liquid gold
    2018: 46 taps, 6.75 gallons of syrup. Best season

    Very nice, what size pans?
    2019- RO
    2018- 25 taps made 8 gal syrup.
    2017- 25 taps -built a 2x3 flat pan, and a fuel tank arch for it. 335 gal 7.34gal syrup.

    2016- 15 taps, 4.3gal syrup boiling on cinderblock arch 3 roasting pans, 1 redneck trash can with a pot, and a turkey fryer.

    2015- 4 taps 44 gals of sap made 2.25 gal of lite syrup.

    14x24 syrup pan and 34x24 sap pan.
    Built the evaporator over the summer and just got the pans Last week.

    That will be a huge upgrade over the turkey fryer. I am finishing building my oil tank arch, and my pan should be done this week, cant wait to fire it up. How many cans of spray paint dif it take?

    250 mostly Sugar Maples, 15% Soft Maples. Currently,(110on 3/16" and 125 on Shurflo 4008 vacuum, 15 gravity), (16,000 before being disabled)
    1947 Farmall H and Wagon with gathering tank
    2012 Kubota with forks to move wood around

    I found that Rustoleum has two kinds of the high heat paint one is labeled 2000 degree the other is for much less heat................I found out the hard way. Jay
