    Default Smoky Lake auto draw

Looking at buying a Smoky Lake Crescendo auto draw. Looking for feedback on the item and whether you would recommend it or not. Thanks

I don't have their Crescendo auto draw, but I really like their basic auto draw. I just have a ball valve ahead of the auto draw and regulate the flow that way. It was quite easy to regulate the flow. That being said, I'll bet the crescendo is a real step up.
Dave Klish, I recently ordered a 2x6 wood fired evaporator from A&A Sheet Metal which I will be converting to oil fired
Now have solar, 2x6 finish pan, 5 bank 7x7 filter press, large water jacketed bottler, and tankless water heater.
Recently bought another Gingerich RO, this one was a 125, but a second membrane was added thus is a 250, like I had.
    After running a 2x3, a 2x6, 3x8 tapping from 79 taps up to 1320 all woodfired, now I'm going to a 2x6 oil fired and a 200-425 taps.

If you don't have a draw off now then you will really appreciate one when things get to rolling and the syrup starts coming off.
I have a Marcland and really like it. Bottom line is once you have a auto draw off you wont go back to manual draw off! I am sure Smokey Lake and the other big equipment folks will be able to supply you with quotes so you can shop. Good luck!

I bought a Great Lakes Guardian Auto Draw-Off System last season and ran 800 gallons through it .. I had 1 time that the valve wouldn't open turned out to be gummed up .. I soaked it in hot water for a few minutes and it worked again..now I clean it about every barrel to be safe .. I really like the stack temp option with the wood fired arch . I fill fire box based on that which keeps my rig going at full potential I feel..

Well they are currently out of the simplicity model and Kettering the crescendo for a highly discounted price so I figure why not. We don't currently have an auto draw and know it would be a great upgrade for a more affordable price compared to the big company models.

You'll like it, and the currant price makes the move that much better. I have the Simplicity, but would have gotten the Crescendo if it had been $550 when I bought the Simplicity. That's a super price. For those thinking about one, buy the Crescendo before Smoky Lake gets more Simplicitys back in stock. Their loss will be your gain.
