tough day to hang out inside, but still great to see Hop Kiln, morningstar, Chris the Maple guy, and other granite state sugarmakers today. Especially enjoyed Henry Markles' workshop on off flavors in syrup

    Trailguy,

I didn't make it to that class, I sat in the 3/16 instead. What tips did you pick up? Figured if I couldn't get the sap increasing efficiency was irrelevant.

    Eric -

Good to see you too! Thanks for making the effort. You're an inspiration. Henry Marckres, who has tastes maple syrup for the Vt Dept of Ag, put on a great class alright. Said in 38 years he had only been hospitalized 3 times in the line of duty. Whoa!

    things I do wrong
    flood at night
    over react with first batch
    not consistence loading with wood
and many more, causing big batches and dark syrup
