Default Replacing 3/16 tubing spouts timing

OK so I tried some taps on 3/16 gravity last season and understand the plastic spouts should be replaced annually.

I'd prefer to do it now (October) rather than just prior to maple season next February since it's just easier to do in warmer weather. Now that I think about it, am I gaining much with having new spouts if I'm going to be letting them hang exposed for four months?

Wait until tapping time, otherwise you are defeating the reason for changing your spouts altogether.

Cut last year's off now and wait to put new ones in until you go to tap this spring
