    Default Help with copula framing

Hi all... im looking for some input or pictures of copula framing for a sugar house i finally pulled the trigget on

The shack is 8x12 built on a 2x8 platform walls are 7ft high with a roof pitch of 8/12 .
As seen in the pictures i have most of framing done and ridge beam is all set and squared. Im planing on a 2.5 x4 foot copula to accomade my 2x4 evaporator. There are no plans in expansion seeing as i am at my limit of tapped trees.
Any advice would help pictures would help more of inside framing
    Thanks

I would suggest flashing where end of copula meets roof. I did not and south wind storms will run down wall and leak inside.

I did a bit of an overhang with cupola but still used flashing.

IMG_0209.jpg Here is how I framed mine. Pretty simple just a little roof on top of the main roof. I used a lot of construction adhesive and screws.

    Hi,
Thanks for the fast response with all the help and pictures.
I just finished all the framing and the copula and trusses.
I updated my 1 wall and framed in a 63 x24 window that I acquired from a friend that just had new windows installed.
Here are some updated pictures to show the progress.20160905_150254.jpg20160905_150254.jpg20160905_150300.jpg20160905_150321.jpg

    Nice work.

    Looks great!

What kind of roofing material are you going to use?

I'm going with steel roof with very low corrigated hieght profile.
My buddy works at a steel roof manufacturing company so I can get it for his cost.
