    Default Whos Boiling Right now?!

    I am in Columbus, Michigan! Boiled 80 gallons last 2 weekends and workin on another 95 gallons tonight!

    2012- Can't Remember 1st year...
    2013- 41 taps made 13 Gallons of Syrup
    2014- 20 taps made 5.5 Gallons of Syrup
    2015- 43 Taps made 10 Gallons of Syrup
    2016- 43 Taps...

    Nope too cold here not a drop of sap has run for me since last weekend
    FIRST GENERATION SUGARMAKER
    First boil 2/22/2012! Went Pefect!
    3,500' of laterals
    1,000' of mainline
    2012 - 105 taps on gravity, 12 sap sacks.
    2013 - 175 taps on gravity, 25 on sacks = 200 taps for 2013! Second year.
    2014 - 250 taps on gravity, 25 on sacks
    Tapped on February 16, 2014
    2015 - adding vac sap puller no more gravity for me!
    275 gallon holding tank for 2014
    20'x30' Sugarhouse

    Wishing I was! Pretty disappointed in my year so far 100 taps and only about a gallon and a half of syrup so far. Gonna collect in the morning to see what has run the past 2 days

    Hey Don. Was in your neck of the woods last Fall. Crossed at Sarnia and stayed overnight in St. Clair. Spent ten days driving around Michigan and had a fantastic time. Such a pretty State.

    2019 -- 44 Red Maples - My home and sugarbush are for sale.
    2018 -- 48 Red Maples, 7 gallons
    2017 -- 84 Red Maples, 1 Sugar Maple, and 1 Silver Maple , 13 gallons
    2016 -- 55 Red Maples, 8 gallons
    2015 -- 15 Red Maples, 6 Birches - 3+ gallons maple syrup
    An awning over my deck is my sugar shack.
    An electrified kitchen sink and an electrified steam table pan are my evaporators.

    still waiting for my first run here in Norther NY
    2012-2015 --- 10-15 taps = little over 1gal syrup made
    2016 first year larger production
    --------homemade evap (fueloil tank w/ 5 steam table pans)
    --------41 taps
    -------evap worked good, shelter did not = 3/4 gal syrup

    Just got done cleaning up from the leftover 3+ gallons I had waiting for the weekends. Good times but a long night. Hope all's well with everyone else

    Im hoping my season doesnt end next week....above freezing Monday to Monday and 60s F during the day...boo!

    You know Don, I wish I had realized that at the time. We were at the Blue Water Inn and also had dinner at the River Crab. There was TONS of time to kill because we crossed the border a day earlier than we needed to on our way to the Leafs game in Detroit. Since it was our Thanksgiving weekend, we didn't want to risk getting stuck in traffic at the border. Too bad because I would have liked to have traded syrup with you. Next time eh?
