I planned to just clean things up, but finished early and decided to tap. About 40 taps with buckets. The weather forecast for Weare doesn't look ideal, but we'll see how it goes.

I set out 33 taps on Saturday afternoon. So far, I have collected 30 gallons in 24 hours and it seemed like the flow was slowing down this afternoon. I haven't checked the sugar content yet, but am happy that I will be boiling later this week!
2024 - 16 taps - buckets on our best producing trees, still boiling on a block arch with slight modifications/refinements over the years.
    2021 - 25 taps - all buckets
2013-2020 - 30/41 taps: discovering which trees were the best producers
2012 - First year - 21 taps in our backyard - block arch evaporator with 3 steam table pans!

Well had a great weekend. I boiled 80 gal yesterday made a full 2 gallons of golden. Then collected another 40 gal from last night and today. Tomorrow and tues look great so I'm planing on boiling Tuesday night. Also saw steam at my neighbors new sugarhouse so I stopped in to check it out and chat, which was nice. Good luck to everyone, don't drown in sap!
Started in 2013 with 15 taps on buckets and a turkey frier.
Now 2020, 250 taps, 3/16's with vac. 10x14 sugarhouse. 2x6 Leader raised flue. Homemade 50 gal per hour RO.

Nice job with the golden. Mine came out closer to dark. Dark-n-tasty! Stop by any time.
More taps than the year before. Bigger shack than the year before. Leader Patriot 2x6 w/hood. 3-post Dolly, but still too much sap and not enough wood or time.

    Default Time to tap?

Checked the buckets late Sunday and many were full. Collected @55 gallons off 35 taps. Not much since then though I expect things to start again tomorrow with temps in the 50s. Fingers crossed!
