The sap didn't run as well as I thought it would yesterday. It got off to a slow start and then picked up to about 75 gallons an hour. I collected 250 gallons at 5:00 and it was till coming in good. I'm going down to pump the tank in a little while and to see how much came in before I shut the vacuum pump off last night. It wasn't supposed to freeze last night but it was 31* at 10:30 and everything is covered with frost this morning.
I had 250 gallons of sap left from Thursday and got 50 more Saturday to start the RO with 300 gallons yesterday morning. I added yesterdays 250 to that and boiled again last night. I made 12 gallons of just barely amber to put my season total at 41 gallons. My evaporator really wants to give me golden but I have been lucky so far. The 41 gallons is about a 1/4 crop which is not bad for February. Another 160 gallons for the season would put me at 1 quart per tap which is pretty good for me.
I went out looking for leaking manifolds and ended up replacing 9 of them and got my vacuum back up to 26". I'm hoping for a good run today and plan to boil again tomorrow night.
