I tapped my buckets this afternoon. The small trees in the sun were running but not the others. It was nice and sunny but the overnight low and cold wind kept the temperature low enough so that the sap wouldn't run very much. I got 50 gallons from the trees on vacuum and the releaser is working now that I have polished and lubricated the float rod. The forecast looks good for tomorrow and I will be boiling again tomorrow night. That will make 5 times in February this year when I only boiled 5 times in March last year. What a difference a year makes.
