I got a lot of sap out this last run with over a 1.5 gallons per tap in the 24 hour period. Made 13 gallons of syrup last night too. It was just a shade darker than golden so I could grade it as amber. It tastes like amber too which makes me very happy.

With no snow checking for leaks is a breeze. With not many leaks to find I was able to check every mainline on the 4 wheeler and fix the few leaks that I found in about 2 hours. @#$%^&* squirrels!

Starting to have trouble with the releaser. The float shaft is sticking and the sap level gets dangerously high before it dumps. It did get too high once. I had to empty the moisture trap to get the vacuum pulling again. I tried to polish it up and was able to get it to work a little better but I think I'm going to buy a new shaft and replace it. What does everybody else use to lubricate those? I have never lubricated mine and don't want to put something on it that is going to gum it all up and make it worse than it is.
