Default Not about tapping, but Maple Trees

Hi, Im thinking I may be in the incorrect forum, but if this can be moved to the correct area, please feel free!

Im inquiring about why Im seeing so many "helicopters" falling from Maple tress this year, taking over my lawn... Barely any leaves, but the helicopters are dropping everywhere.

Any thoughts on why this would be happening this year, and hasnt happening like this in the last 15 to 20 years?

I'm seeing a normal amount of "helicopters" on my lawn this year. Lots on my driveway from the trees this Spring.

Red and silver maple drop their seed in the spring, and typically have some amount of seed fall each year. We've had several very good seed years in the past 10-15 yrs. Seems to be on the heavy side around this area this year. Perhaps the trees right around your yard finally reached maturity and are just reaching the age where they are starting to seed?
