    Default evaporators worth

is there any book or site out there like kelley blue book that tells you what your evaporator is worth. I am trading or selling my waterloo small 2 by 6 this summer and up grading and was wondering what it is worth.

No blue book as far as I know. Look on the classifieds here and sugarbush.info for a rough idea. If you give us some more details, we can help estimate too. It's likely gonna be somewhere between 1500 and 3500, depending on length of flue pan, depth of flues, welded or soldered pans, arch condition, hoods or no, blower or no, and whether it's got a stainless or galvanized stack.

There are also smaller evaporators advertised on craigslist (at least in VT) that can give you a ballpark

Welded pans, or soldered? Stainless stack or galvanized? Come with firebricks? With the info you've provided, we're talking at least $2500, more depending on the answers to the above questions. Of course, that's just my opinion based on my limited knowledge.

you could ask what a dealer would give you in trade in value and then add 25-30% and sell it on craigslist. Based on what you are saying, I would have to agree that at least 2-3K seems reasonable.
