Snow is melting pretty quick with the rain, picked up about 1/4 gpt yesterday. Not sure how today will go with it not getting too cold last night.

Pete you have some 3/16 out? Mine have been running non stop since Wednesday, I don't have a lot of drop on one run maybe 12-15' but it still pulls 10" of vac. I am 100% certain if I did that run on 5/16 I would be getting nothing.

picked up 175 gallons yesterday unloaded it and promptly drove my truck off the edge of the driveway. I guess I'm gonna try AAA and finally get some use out of that card I've been carrying for 15 years.

Looks like no sap today, but gonna boil up what I got. Might even take off some syrup.

That 3/16 with the CV's have made a huge difference for me. I've got up to 16" on gravity. I'm using Grimm blue and green tubing. It hasn't got going real good here in Lancaster yet. Have not even boiled yet, first time ever not boiling by March( since about 1968) it looks like not until April. I also have been saying this the past month, next week..................

I managed to squeeze out my first two gallons of the season today. Actually, last year was the only year I didn't make any syrup until April 1st in 27 years sugaring at my current location.

I'm sold on the 3/16. I have two runs of it and they both are producing better than any of the 5/16. Both runs have about 15' of drop. I was excited to see yesterday the temperature was decent and for about 1/2 the day the sap was running. I've saved up a couple days worth to be able to boil today with some nice sunny weather.

Thanks for the update on the 3/16". My bush is on a side hill; a long run but not much fall. I can only get about 15' or 20' of fall from my upper trees, and I wasn't sure if switching would be worth it. It's good to know that you can still pull some vacuum. I'm in for next season.

    Thanks again,
