    Default 2015 Maplerama

2015 Maplerama will be in Caledonia County at the fairgrounds July 23-25. Still a lot of planning to do but save the dates. There will be on site camping. We are looking for tour stop suggestions and any body in the county and Essex that would like to help plan.

Hey Eric, Missed you today. Saw the van, but didn't realize it was you. Lisa and I were there and got a couple days without the kids.

Thanks to everyone who organized and hosted the event. You all did a great job and I don't think we've been to a event as well fed as this. There were some great treats at the stops and some interesting sugarhouses. A lot of work goes into putting these together, and we're looking forward to next year in Windham County. Thanks again.

Attended this for the first time. I will be somewhat more enthusiastic and say that I was absolutely blown away by the Sweet Tree facilities! Taps in the hundreds of thousands, tubing measured in thousands of MILES, syrup production measures in BARRELs of syrup produced per MINUTE, 6" diameter syrup drawoff pipe because 3" was too small. Are you kidding me?? I'm still skeptical that a single 8x12 evaporator can produce 55 gallons or syrup per minute, as they claimed and confirmed in the Maple News article. How can the steam escape that fast, and sap (concentrate) flow in fast enough to support that? The investments are incredible. Tens of millions maybe? Two brand new tank truck sitting idle 10 months of the year? The marketing approach was interesting too. Would love to see the operation when it is in full swing, gotta be insane with fluids pumping everywhere and crazy amounts of steam.
