    Default Elm Syrup

    Heard you can get syrup from elms. Would you use the same guidelines for tree diameter as sugar maples to determine if it is safe for the tree's health to tap?

    Does the sap run when the maple's run?

    Elm trees? I suspect you're talking about non-native elms right? I wouldn't stress native elms any more than they have to be, with dutch elm disease and all.
