Regarding my area, 2012 silver maple seed production was large. 2013 silver maple seed production was huge. 2014 silver maple seed production was scant. Spring 2013 and 2014 sap yields were excellent and the sap to sugar ratios were excellent. I have been wondering if seed production is or could possibly be used as an indicator for next year's spring sap run - anyone think there might be a correlation?

The two year drought is officially over here. Got 13+ inches of rain in June, though only a trace so far in July. I think we might be going into a mid/late summer dry spell again, as has been the pattern for the last three years.

Hope everyone is having a good summer.
