    Default Colby-sawyer college survey

    Hey All,

    Here at Colby-Sawyer our sugaring season has come to a halt. We made about 30 or so gallons of syrup this season, which is not too far off of our average.

    Last year we posted a survey to get a sense of peoples season. We would appreciate anyone who is willing to take our survery this year. It is used for our college's class on The Science of Maple Sugaring.

    Some interesting facts from last season survey:

    17 Sugar houses participated, all in 17 different towns.
    Last Year:
    Taps put in between 2/13 and 3/15
    Taps pulled between 3/30 and 4/17
    Experience ranged from 1 year to 41 years
    36- 2100 taps total
    Produced anywhere from 2-1250 gallons of syrup.
    Sugar content averaged around 2.5%

    Come on you new Hampshire producers help the school out. some day they may use that survey to dole out cash to producers, Heck even I submitted a survey and I live in New York...lol

    2016 block arch in progress eyeing up several trees. trying to figure best configuration for chimney. .
    2014: 20-25 taps block arch. 3- 6 inch deep steam table pans . 17 quarts of syrup from from reds, silvers and sugars.
    2011: 9 trees tapped block arch 2 steam table pans 1 side burner on the propane grill..1.5 gallons of syrup
    1 understanding and supportive wife
    1 daughter that loves all things maple

    Is this for NH producers only? The second questions makes it seem so.
