Maple maniac, I'm surprised to see you got more than 1/2 a gallon per tap. I was expecting something good yesterday and on my tiny 35 taps I got about 5 gallons of sap. The kids are happy, last year they were lugging full 5 gallon buckets around every time we collected now it's a breeze. Of course last year they could drive the golf carts to collect since there wasn't any snow on the ground.
I'm with Dill, my huge old maples haven't produced anything yet this season. The smaller quicker to thaw trees have been the only ones doing anything (and that's not saying much). This coming week looks promising, fingers crossed.
