I may get another run, but I won't be up for a couple of weeks, and may be busy with other things by then ( another big boil would be nice though) we'll see...
Well I plan to start tapping in Minden this weekend. I will be away march break, and hope to come back to brimming buckets.
2013 55 taps, a homemade 2 x 5 oil tank evaporator and 2 x 4 flat pan
2014 56 taps new sap pump and 45 gallon sap gravity feed copper coil pre-heater rig
2015 60 taps just tweaking things
2016 shooting for the same but will see what happens
I got 50 taps in this weekend, and now I am panicking, because I am going away for march break. Looks Like I am due for a sick day later this week. Anyone have any updates for this area.

I haven't started tapping yet, haven't even dug out the snow to get into the property. But am hopeing to start next week ( March Break), if the weather is still cooperating... looking forward to a good year.
we got 250gal of sap yesterday from 300 taps in Minden
That'll keep you busy boiling for a while, Phil...
Likewise- We pulled in 210 gallons from 304 taps in Parry Sound
Interestingly- we have 52 taps on 3/16 tubing- almost 90 gallons collected from the tubing alone.
That's about a 5:1 ratio in favour of the tubing.
Next year we will look for more trees on the hill and save the bucket leg work.
The deep snow is making collecting just brutal.

Well got back from a trip down south on sunday to find about 500 l of sap and about another 200 l of ice blocks. I am going to get my boil on!!!!!
Sitting in the palm trees last week, and under the maples this week. Mexico was sweet, but not as sweet as sap.
