Not looking good at all! Could be a 12 repeat.

For the opposite reasons too :P in 12 it was in the 60ies and 70ies this time of year. That's the year I rotted the sap in the buckets because it was too hot and I couldn't check them.

    I don't get it.

This has all the makings of a good season.

I'm not sure what will happen, but it isn't going to happen until April. At this time in 2012 we had no snow on the ground, very little frost, and the ice was off the pond I live next to. Right now we have 3+ feet of snow on the ground, a lot of frost since the soils were wet and froze earlier in the winter, and there is 3 feet of ice on the pond I live next to. Doesn't seem like all that is going away overnight, but you never know.

The weather we are getting right now is the weather we needed over a month ago. I keep looking at the trees I had tapped, plotting for next year

Don't feel bad, we haven't had a run yet at all! It's looking like our first sap will be maybe the 28th or 29th, unless they change the forecast again!

You all need to chill, I'm with Steve here. Yes it's cold but with the snow pack in all this is looking good here.
