    Default first boil 3-11 14

    got a late start today but started boiling late in the afternoon. boiled off a little over 50 gallons. still 70 in the tank and will resume in the morning. new homemade evaporator and hood all indoors for the first time in 6 years. its nice being inside.

    ripped of another 70 gallons today. still have 60 in the tank for tomorrow. looks like a little cold snap. should be good for sap.

    finished off,filtered, and bottled just over 3 gallons of syrup tonight. still some almost syrup in the pan to finish tomorrow.

    boiled another 70 gallons today and finished 1.5 gallons of syrup from yesterday. dont think much flowed for me today. i have to go find some sap.!

    We've collected about a third of the sap compared to this time last year. We are making some great Grade A product though. Sap flow in the tubing is sporatic. New mainline is doing great.

    yes, sporadic here as well and also about a third. last year at this time i was all done. some people stopped over here sunday so i was not able to come an see you guys. i will get there though.

    taking pics is on the list to do. i will have some for the end of the week. boiled off another 50 gallons this afternoon. it seems like every other day i am cooking a little. nice and relaxed.

    collected 265 gallons in the last few days. started to boil it today and hope to finish it tomorrow night. finished off 4 gallons of sweetness while the new sap boiled away.

    finished fridays take on sap and ended up with about 5 gallons of syrup. darker than last week but always tasty. grabbed 160 gallons of sap today to boil tomorrow. busy time is here. took some pictures and now have to set up an album here.
