It was close to -20 here 2 nights last week. I don't think my trees will thaw any time soon.

Tapit, dont worry, thats normal. The trees just arent ready yet. I have 500 taps on 1000 ft of 1 inch main and my 5/16 lats are full too and not doing anything.Dont vent them, they will start to flow when we get some warm days. If you vent them you will loose any natural vacume that cane be made.

I am no expert for sure, but I have 2 mainlines 1/2" with one 106 taps and one with 190 taps. Yesterday mine where doing the same thing. I only got 180 gal of sap and today I got 330 gal. I think it just took that long for the trees to thaw out. Hopefully tomorrow yours will run better.

I am in the same boat. I have 175 taps on 3/4" mainline gravity. Many of my lats have sap in them 4' up and the sap was like a steady half pencil stream that was it. I figured that with today being 50 and sunny it would be running really good but no dice. Even my bags on trees that get full sun weren't really running so that tells me for sure they aren't ready yet

same issue here on high vac.
We were sub zero less than a week ago. Trees are very cold still.
Issue is that the sap sitting in the lines will start to turn.

Last night I vented lines to drain the system. They are predicting single digits here Thursday night and that will mess up the lines and fittings and cause leaks on my system. Also sap sitting that long will start to get cloudy so tonight before it freezes we will have to vent lines to drain them down well. It takes me about an hour but the leaks it will save me will take days to search out and fix.

    Good Luck!

    Ben
