    Default Not Yettttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

Thought we would get somewhat of a little something today but with the clouds and then the wind nothing. Some started to open up where the sun was beating on the trees but nothing to get jumping up and down about and looks like tomorrow no better, then they are watching snowstorms that may hit us and more cold I am getting somewhat nervous about the 165 buckets that are out and have been tapped since the 19th of last month and the 200 and something pipeline that is tapped also. Even thou when we had those two weekend days that were warm and stuff started to open up and to sum it up, a lot of pacing around and feeding the home wood stove and knowing others are in the same position. Looks like one of those of fashion winters this year, go figure, that is what mother nature is all about. So Al Gore how does that work!

Here in central Ohio our weather has been perfect, but the ground is still frozen hard and the flow has really been slow to start. I've had 3-5% of my trees do 2 gallons a day once or twice, but most of the rest are doing a pint today.

I had temps of 52 here in Merrimack and bright sun almost all afternoon...most of my buckets barely had a teaspoon of sap in them...they were slowly waking up as the day went on. Unfortunately tomorrow we will be cooler again and I didn't get anything to boil........ disappointed!!!!!!

Tapped my 34 trees on tubing yesterday (a couple were dripping) and 30 on buckets today. Several that were getting lot of sun were dripping well, but most we're not. Had been hoping I'd be boiling tomorrow but it looks like that isn't going to happen.

Same here. Only tapped 25 trees so far so I could try my new vacuum pump and wasn't impressed at all. Only 2 gallons maybe?

Same here, very disappointing day. When I first got up the sun was shining and it was warming up nicely. The sun disappeared behind the clouds for the rest of the morning and didn't see any wet taps until after 11:00. While the sun was out the sap started to flow pretty good but by 3:00 the clouds were back, the wind picked up and the sap slowed way down.

Hey all, first time tapper here, just wanted to chime in. I tapped mine yesterday around 10:30, pulled out about 2 gallons from 3 taps in 6 hours. Had about 1 gallon from the other 6 taps combined but just left the setups in. Maybe its warmer in Manch Vegas.

By the way, this site is fantastic. I've gotten pretty much everything I need from one person or another's posts, so thanks for everything.
