I got the 2nd load out of hill then another 400 gal by 4pm,,picked up 150 gal at rte11 at 5pm...mathimaticaly i had enough concentrate to make 70 gal...boiled and filled a 55 gal bbl. From 3pm to 6pm.....i think the concentrate in the evaporator when i started was around 6% and mabey thats why i made less than expected......
Getting the maple donut carney trailer gutted...was super happy to see the trailer walls are steel framed and things dont look as bad as expected inside the walls,,the roof is not too bad.....
I wonder how many new folks i can introduce to the taste of maple this year?????? Mabey even grow our market just a bit....give back to the community that has given me so much......

500 gal in hill from 4pm yesterday till 8am...froze a little there and was starting to run rte 11 ran 150 gal i same period..funny the sap at rte 11 was crystal clear...i think im supposed to get 2 more freezes then tues 60....we will see...vacuum has not dropped off yet

Rte 11 did not run today..got to hill this a.m. and the belts broke on the vacuum pump some time after 5 pm when sap was picked up...probably lost 500 gal. Im guessing..started up the pump and 15 inch o vac..sometning chewed the last 3 lateral lines to peices way out back up on the hill,,,got the vac back up...hill ran 700 gal today...its freezing now..should be good tommrow..i will try rte11 one more day...
Made 40 gal of very nice dark syrup tonight..nice boil

Just back from hill with 500 gal. Should be another 500 by 8pm should not freeze hard tonight if it does at all..walked everything and the vac is at 26" ...the mountian raviens are running really well,,still pacthes of snow up to 12 inches thick here and there but its going fast

Got another 500,,sap slowed right up...pump running....3/4% sap.....hmmm

Got another 500 gal at 3pm yesterday...the sap had not turned but had a slight oder/ taste....brought it home and crunched and boiled it...had about 1500 gal to start,,wound up with 300 gal of concentrate,,,,boiled it and pushed it thru with permeate...the syrup was not bad but definatly real strong......
Had a real hard time taking the tank off the ford ....but...time to move on..
Highest production ever for me with the least ammount of help.....

I just got started today. I have been on a great logging job..took 4 days off all winter..blew a planitary in the skidder yesterday..went and got spiles and straight connectors today...no help..looks like it will run next week
