Snow ice and cold here..rte11 was bone dry at 10, my last visit..hauled some syrup to market..snow ice and cold down country,,got back at 6.30 and stopped at the tank on my way grocery shopping (supplies at camp are running low, been busy)thinking there might be 200 gal in the tank but more likley a frozen releaser,,surprise,,1300 gal and running hard..got the sap tank back on the truck and i have 2 more loads to haul..guess im eating out of the gas station for a while..

Did not really start running here till noon..got 1000 gal with 500 still waiting for me..just started the r.o....i dont like to run the ro and boil unless i have 2500 gal of sap..but im very aware of the danger of concentrate spoiling especialy late season.so i leave it as sap as long as i can and wait for enough..but..sap going thru r.o is 35 degrees and supposed to be 25 tonight..
Buds and flowers minimal,,lots of snow and ice in woods..sap still tastes good...
The futcher is uncertian and the end is always near,,run it hard while you can

WHAT A DAY!!!
Sap was pounding today..had the tank empty at 10am got 500 at noon, 500 at 2, 500 4,,was boiling by 5 and getting in my truck to haul a load at 10 30,,made 75 gal of my favorite, SSW B..no off flavors or smells from the sap..boiled like a dream,,.hauled 500 after boiling and there is 400 still there..sugar content around 1.3 to 1 depending on which hydrometer your useing...a real good run.put a real smile on my face....light freeze tonight,,,she is going to go out with a bang
Was pretty astonishing to see my double bernard releaser dumping every 50 seconds
Vacuum at 23,,did not check for leaks

Had 1700 gal that ran today crunched by 7 boiling at 830 done at 1030 made 35 gal.. just fnished hauling in 1000 more gal and still running at 180gph..

My tank will be empty. I turned the vacuum pump off after my last collection last evening. I think I'll have another cup of coffee!

Russ..was your sap buddy?
700 in the tank,,running in slowly bout 120gph/hr im guessing..no off flavor in sap and its crystal clear..not much sugar in it but ill take it..
Hoping for cloud cover today and cooler than expected temps

My sap is coming in 50 gph steady filled the tank over night, I'm guessing the sugar is down around 1%. I'm going to try to get through tomorrow, I could have gone another week ,tree buds are fine, theres just no more freezes on the weather map
