Welllll,,, Ray came yesterday with his 1986 C30 and we tag teamed 3000gal of .6%of sap which looked and smelled a little off back to the shack, I crunched it but did not like the taste,,kinda like a mouthful of rotton orange, got the woods tank washed,,hauled in another 1500 gal by 8pm after the first batch and left that as raw sap. Stuff is very clear and much better tasting..,did not boil the first batch of concentrate which I turned into 500 gal or 4% checked the first batch of concentrate at 2am be for I went trucking,,dumping that now,,pretty nasty. Crunching the nice clear sap,,just finished hauling in 2 loads, still running at 200 gal an hour, concentrate looks and tastes good, I'm gonna sleep for 4 ish hours and see what things look like.

Well, that's the season,,,just made a barrel of off flavored, I have about 1800 gal of .4% that's going on the ground. Little less than half a crop.

Hope everyone has a great year, make all kinds of improvements in your system and knock it out of the park next year.

Well Parker it's hard to believe that your sugar was really that low. You've been grooming those woods for years to make the sugars healthier. After a very weak first run nothing here was less than 1% and 90% of my trees are reds. Are you using a hydrometer to test it and is it accurate?
