    Default New evaporator and my 1st boil

    Thanks to forum member McGeeC I was able to pick up an evaporator and graduate from using turkey fryers.

    It's not the prettiest thing, but it worked great. Set it up yesterday and boiled water to help clean it out and see where I had leaks etc....went and picked up some gasket rope, some rustoleum wood stove paint and fired it up again to test it again and see how my fixes worked. Looks like I fixed all but 1, but I will get that done once it cools down again. So I decided to boil the 20 or so gallons of sap I had from last weekend and just made 40oz of syrup with it. Here are some pictures from my weekend...

    Well I had a bunch more but the limit is 5 lol

    2013 10 taps, oil tank evap, 2 gallons of slightly too thin syrup
    2014 48 taps improved oil tank evap 3.5 gallons, ouch??
