    Default Tapped in Washington

Finished the tubing lots today,I should have been tapped sooner. It was really running well today. Got to hang the buckets, then clean the sugar house and we should be good to go.

How did all yours run today?

We tapped out this weekend but did not keep any sap. Good opportunity to clean the lines. Will get vacuum set up next weekend

Looks like we have plenty of time to finish tapping. Cold weather for the next several days.

Sweetened the pans yesterday and boiled in our first 300 gallons, not a great run but nice to see steam coming from the sugar house. Now we just need to keep the evaporator from freezing solid.

Boiled again last night for about three hr, poor sap flow yesterday, the temps were good but wind was wrong and strong. Hoping for better results later in the week. Concerned about our open house this coming weekend. We have some syrup from last year and a little we made this year.

    Hope things change soon.
