After all the smoke has cleared, I made about 135 oz of syrup. That was from 7 silver maples and 2 sugar maples. Did a separate boil of the two different trees but didn't notice a big difference in flavor. Each batch I finished was slightly different from others but all in all it seemed a waste of time and effort to keep things seperate. Next time, all sap goes in a common bucket. I did notice a difference in when the sap would run. There were days when the sugars would run but the silvers wouldn't. But when the silvers ran, they ran big time and the sugars ran good too. The sugars were smaller trees so they ran proportunately less. Excuse me as it is time for a desert pancake.......
