    A cooler for milk cans?
Dave Klish, I recently ordered a 2x6 wood fired evaporator from A&A Sheet Metal which I will be converting to oil fired
Now have solar, 2x6 finish pan, 5 bank 7x7 filter press, large water jacketed bottler, and tankless water heater.
Recently bought another Gingerich RO, this one was a 125, but a second membrane was added thus is a 250, like I had.
    After running a 2x3, a 2x6, 3x8 tapping from 79 taps up to 1320 all woodfired, now I'm going to a 2x6 oil fired and a 200-425 taps.

Yes Dave that is what it is , I have been digging out an old farm dump on one of my farms and have a salvage yard bringing a dumpster this week . it is amazing what is in there . Also it is like turning back the hands of time . I can remember my dad using that can cooler and riding to the creamery with him .

I guessed that because when I was 6-7 yrs old, my grand parents on my father's side still had a few cows. I think at that time they had 13-14 still, not sure how many were milking, some were young stock. They had a milk can cooler similar, but it was made of concrete, with an overflow just above the half way mark. I helped cool it, by turning the hand pump a few turns to bring fresh cold water into the tank, the warmest flowed out.
That pump was different, it had a little pocket likely made of cast iron on a link chain, one about every 12-16". When the handle was turned it dumped the pockets over a trough that then ran into the cooler.
I'll bet that would not pass inspection now days. I think theirs would have held 8 cans if filled, I never saw more than 3 in it. Too late to ask my dad how many cans he used to haul to the milk plant, he died 16 years ago.
