Your arch looks exactly like mine and mine was new (previous owner) in early '91, thus it may have been built in'90. I don't know how long they used that specific casting and such. I doubt it was a new casting pattern in '90.
If you use good cobalt bits, (not just coated) they will hold up much longer on SS. I recently ordered 3 sets from Drills&cutters.com in cobalt. I don't see the exact sets I ordered but they have several options. The ones I ordered, started out being just select sizes to fill in 2 sets I had with missing bits but as I added them it looked far better to just order 3 new sets, 29pc each. The quality looks good but they have not really been tested yet.
Dave Klish, I recently ordered a 2x6 wood fired evaporator from A&A Sheet Metal which I will be converting to oil fired
Now have solar, 2x6 finish pan, 5 bank 7x7 filter press, large water jacketed bottler, and tankless water heater.
Recently bought another Gingerich RO, this one was a 125, but a second membrane was added thus is a 250, like I had.
After running a 2x3, a 2x6, 3x8 tapping from 79 taps up to 1320 all woodfired, now I'm going to a 2x6 oil fired and a 200-425 taps.

Ouch, I've been using one since about 1992 or 93. My first one was a 500 (up to 1/2" bits) then I bought a 750 (up to 3/4" bits) My 500 still does ok, but unfortunately I don't think the diamond wheel is replaceable, that's the biggest reason I got the 750. I only rarely sharpen bits above 1/2" but the ability to change the diamond grinding wheel is a huge plus. I'm on my 2nd one, but barely used it so far. The first one last about 16-18 years.
Correction, I just checked, new grinding wheels are now available. I checked years ago and they weren't for the 500.
