Got a little bit of green sap in the afternoon. No sun at all! Not that it mattered- turned the vacuum pump on and it went to 6in. I guess I forgot to install one of those whips...

I hope you guy's get your vacuum up and running real soon. It looks like the middle of next week sugaring will start in the northern part of the state.

I worked in Springfield today and saw 51 degrees, apparently it didn't get that warm at home. ;(

Glad that Im ready since getting around in the woods might get tough!

Ran pretty well today and is actually still coming in, but showing signs of freezing up soon. Probably collected close to 300 gallons from 300 taps today at 26.5". Sugar is 1.9%. Looks like back to winter for a few days so thinking of boiling it all off tomorrow.

Spud and Thad- If things straighten out can you guys still have a good season? I feel bad you guys have so much snow but what can you do? Can you actually sugar the whole month of April or is that not a possibility? Theron

In the woods fixing leaks all day. Collected 5000 gallons of 2%. Went to turn the r.o on and noticed a leak. Need to buy 2 O rings in the morning before i concentrate. There is always something.

Last year this time I already had 19,000 gallons of sap. This year I have 10,000 so it's not terrible. Last year I had 13 runs in March. We still have 19 days left to this March so I can still do good if it starts soon. Middle of next week looks like the sugaring weather will start for me. Last year my season ended April 20th. It is possible for the season to go a little longer. I feel I still have time to have a very good season. I am supposed to get 18 inches of snow tomorrow. They already canceled schools for tomorrow. With all this snow it's hard for the frost to melt allowing the trees to run.
