Tapping in the woods all day long and the only holes that were even wet were in direct sunlight during the middle of the day. Things are thawing, but its been really cold for quite a while. No panic here....

Definitely no need to panic...though the test buckets are up to about one quart total. Still dripping slightly. Got some work done in the woods completing the last mainline connections and installed a bunch of saddles. Almost done plumbing up the vacuum pump and finished assembling my new DIY electric releaser.

Looks like it is going to get real cold after this brief thaw for at least a week. Feeling good about being ready for sugaring weather.

My sap is running at about 125 GPH as of 8:00 pm and I have about 500 gallons in the tank. I dumped 200 gallons of snot sap early in the day. Might get a little run the next 2 days.

Sap ran a little yesterday. The new releaser worked well. Had a few leaks but vacuum is good. I'm going to check lines today Maybe I can boil by Sunday. Then back to the woods to add more taps during the cold spell

I got about 45 gallons out of 100 taps yesterday with only running the pump from 1 p.m till 7 p.m! then put in another 30 taps. turned the pump on this a.m and it was coming in about like yesterday was... a tad more I'd say! hopefully it'll pick up a bit over the course of the day! After fixing some squirrel chews I got the vacuum level up to 27.5! I was pretty **** happy with that!
