Have about 25 taps in this year, would like to get in a few more. Been doing it off and on for about 25 years here in the Clare/Gladwin area. Have a few trees flowing not much to speak of yet.

Wanted to say hello to everyone as this is my first post and am very new to the site

I'm new here, first post. But I am up in Alpena. First year tapping, I did 10 taps a few days ago, don't know if it's just me but only collected about 5 gallons of sap so far.

Hello RobRings. I'm just a little south in Alcona County and it's my first year, too. It's been a very slow start this year, but it's starting to pick up. Hang in there. Today was the first day that my tap average passed a half gallon per tap per day, but that's more than double yesterday's.

Yeah I only have 4 taps that are producing 1/2-3/4gal a day. The other 6 are just starting to put out sap. I am hoping to boil this sap either tomorrow or sunday, prefer tomorrow as I usually make pancakes on sunday mornings.

Most of my trees started flowing well three days after they started dripping. One of them didn't start dripping until today.
