Default New shack going up and new D&G 3x12 evaporator

Building the new operation for 2014 season.
Going from 800 taps to 3500 this year or more if we have time.
New machine is in champion D&G 3x12 oil fired.
The shack is almost ready for cupola build and roofing
Boy what a fun "hobby". Can't wait till it's all put together.

Congratulations on the new building! I do believe it's in the rules that if you say you're building a new building you have to have pictures of the process so that we can ooh and ahh and make comments.

Picked up my new to me RO and filter press yesterday!
Boy am I swamped for the next 6 weeks.
    Todo
    Finish shack
    Set evaporator up
    Set up RO
    Finish my orchards
    Etc.....
Going to turn my old sugar shack into my RO room and install 1000 gal storage tank in there. Have to pipe my sap from one shack to the other. The old shack sits about 15' higher than my new one so gravity should be enough to feed the new evap. Not sure what size line I should use 1 1/4?

image.jpgOk it's been a lot of work but I can see the light. The last of my taps are up just have to drill a few more holes. The shack is almost done just a little siding and doors on the cupola. Machine is ready to boil and tanks are in place. We managed to get 3000 taps in and built shack and set up the equipment all in a very short time. Last thing we need to do is fire up the RO. Thanks Mother Nature for letting us get set up before the big runs. We made about 12 gal of syrup on that little warm up we had. Now we are ready to be swamped with sap. Good luck everyone!
