Post will it work? 2x3 steam away on a 2x2 leader wse flu pan

I just purchased a slightly used 2x4 Leader WSE it came with a 2x3 leader steamaway. My goal is to install the steam away on the flu pan like normal but have the extra foot of the steam away hang over the syrup pan to gather that steam as well. I was wondering 1: will it work? 2: dose the steamaway have to be sealed to the flu pan? 3: what kind of efficancy will I get? My thought is as long as I had a good sealing hood on the steam away with enough draft it would still pull the steam through the exchanger tubes. I know this is a radical experiment but a free steamaway why not try it.

If it didn't work, I would buy it from you. I have a 2x 3 flue pan. Let me know!

Did the 2X3 steamaway work in your rig?

dose the steamaway have to be sealed to the flu pan?

Best performance of a steam away, yes
30x8 Leader revolution, wood fired blower, steamaway/hood. 903 taps all but 54 on pipeline and 3 vacuum systems. Hauling sap this year with a 99 F350 7.3 diesel dump and of course back up is the Honda 450 and trailer.
